Why do we charge for the Shopify app?

Firstly, we don't want to do that. We want all connectors to MailCrown to be free to our customers but the fact is we cannot.

Shopify have a rule that you have to bill through their systems so that they can take a percentage of the revenue from anything that is connected to them. They believe that the value they add is so great that you have to pay for it. Our free app was rejected by them and our choices were to either force customers to pay for every service we offer through Shopify, which is ridiculous when many customers don't even use Shopify, or to place a charge on the app so that those of you that do use Shopify pay them for that percieved value.

Whilst not what we want to do, it is probably the least painful way forward. We wanted you to have an app to sync your contacts to Mailcrown and this is the only way we could achieve it.
